THE ROYAL INSTITUTION
14421 Albemarle Street, London W1S 4BS
The Royal Institution (Ri) was founded in March 1799 with the mission to introduce new technologies and promote the teaching of science to the general public. It aimed to foster a greater understanding and appreciation of science and its applications in everyday life. It is dedicated to bringing the public and scientists together to share their interest and passion for science. This includes ensuring equitable access to scientific knowledge and engagement opportunities, particularly for those from disadvantaged communities.
Moreover, the Ri offers charitable support to young people in disadvantaged communities, helping them engage with science through various outreach programs and educational initiatives. This effort aims to inspire the next generation of scientists and ensure that everyone has the opportunity to participate in scientific learning and discovery.
This engagement is particularly relevant to me this year, as I recently launched Mobius Capital Partners, a new asset manager with an emphasis on improving governance standards in Emerging and Frontier Market corporations. Listening to some of the other attendees speak, it gave me a fresh take on a wider range of issues affecting developing markets and what we can do as a firm to help.”
